You used to have to be at least 18 to do our events. Now, thanks to some fancy work by our lawyers, we can include minors to participate as well ( please read all the requirements and age limits for each event).
The catch is that this loophole is only valid for:
You must be 16 years old or up for GORUCK Basic, Tough, Scavenger, and all Star Course (50 miler) events.
You must be 12 years old and up for the 12.2 miler and the 26 mile Star Course.
We are able to permit children 8 and above at our 5K, 10K, and 15K Star Course Sprint Series in the rucking division of the event.
Requirement #1 for all age groups under 18: The parent/legal guardian of the minor signs GORUCK's online participant waiver while designating the minor as the event participant.
Requirement #2 for all age groups under 18: A parent/legal guardian will chaperone the minor during the whole event. This means the parent/legal guardian and the minor are either participating in the event together or the parent/legal guardian is present as a shadow for the event. The minor is not allowed to participate in the event if the parent/legal guardian does not show or will the minor be allowed to continue if the parent/legal guardian leaves at any point during the event.
